Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional Blending Performance: The powerful motor easily pulverizes tough ingredients like kale, frozen fruit, and nuts, producing a homogenous, silky consistency that users claim surpasses cheaper brands and coffee shop quality.
  • Convenient Self-Cleaning Function: The dedicated cleaning cycle allows users to clean the jar quickly using just warm water and a drop of soap, which many reviewers find saves time and encourages more frequent daily use.
  • Durable Build and Long Warranty: The machine is described as a sturdy, professional-grade 'beast' built to last for decades, supported by an industry-leading 10-year warranty that justifies the initial investment.

Cons

  • High Noise Levels: Multiple reviews highlight that the blender is extremely loud during operation, with one user measuring it at 101 decibels, which can be startling for pets and annoying for household members.
  • Premium Price Point: Many customers find the blender to be a significant financial investment, noting it is much more expensive than basic or mid-market alternatives, which may not suit casual users.
  • Reliability and Sensing Issues: Some users experienced technical failures, including motors breaking within months, units overheating during thick blends, or the base failing to detect the jar on the unit.

  1. Very nice

This is quite powerful and easy to use. The presets and cleaning options worked well. The blender is quite loud though. Perfectly blended soup and smoothies. Keep in mind that a food processor should still be used for particularly thick food. Recommended, high end!

This review is for the Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender, Professional-Grade, 3 Preset Blending Programs, 48-ounce Container, Self-Cleaning, Polar White

Vitamix is the gold standard for blenders and the Ascent X2 lives up to that reputation. It is simple yet powerful. I *love* the self-cleaning mode! This machine does not need to be disassembled to clean like other blenders I’ve owned. Simply add warm water about halfway, add a drop of dish soap, set the machine to self-clean, push the button and watch it do all the hard work! Rinse and you’re good to go for your next Vitamix adventure. Follow the instructions for how to load your blender and this machine will provide many years of excellent blending. A true workhorse.

  3. Powerful and Versatile Vitamix—A Huge Upgrade!

    Review source: Amazon

Years ago, I had a tough choice between a Blendtec and a Vitamix. I went with Blendtec for its power and wide mouth for easy cleaning. But now, upgrading to the new Vitamix feels like I finally got it right!

The motor is incredibly powerful, which is key for a good blender. It crushes nuts and frozen fruit in less than a minute with no traces left behind. I make my daily ABC juice (apple, banana, and celery), and the celery blends perfectly smooth.

The wide mouth makes cleaning super easy, plus it has a self-cleaning feature, which is a bonus. I love the digital timer that gives me control over blending times rather than relying on pre-set timers.

Making soups is now a breeze—no more cutting or stirring, just a quick blend and it’s done! This blender does so much, it’s almost like a food processor. It’s handy, powerful, and incredibly easy to use and clean. I’m thrilled with this upgrade from my old Blendtec. Highly recommend!

  4. Impressive blending with many options

I’ve been using a vintage metal Vitamix for years – that’s how good they are. But this ‘Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender’ is a massive step up! The metal one works great, but it’s very loud and has a simple on/off kind of controls. This Ascent X2 operates quietly for what it does. There are lots of controls, with a pulse switch, on/off and a master control switch. There are presets for smoothies, soups, frozen treats and a wash cycle. I love the wash cycle, it motivates me to just deal with it right way – rinse it, add water and a tiny bit of dish soap and let it run. Rinse again and it’s clean.

There are 10 power levels. I used just the first level to mix up a peach ice cream base for my creami and it blended it perfectly to just the lumpy creaminess that I wanted. So this thing has tons of power, but can also be used in a controlled, low power way to get just the texture you want. And you don’t have to leave the kitchen to survive the sound!

It takes up a little less space than my creami, easily fitting on my counter under the cabinets. So I can leave it out for ease of use. It looks nice, too. Great product from Vitamix.

  5. Beautifully designed and so powerful!

I’ve always wondered why Vitamix blenders have asuch a huge following. Now I do.
The Ascent 2X has a beautiful, modern design, and I love the black and white color scheme.
Now, let me tell you about its biggest strength for me personally. It makes the smoothest, fluffiest smoothies I’ve ever tasted in my life! I could not believe how delicious a green smoothie can really be when blended properly.
With such a powerful motor comes the volume, but it’s not too loud.
The preset function buttons for self-cleaning, smoothies, soup and frozen deserts are so convenient!
On top of all that goodnes, you’re getting a 10 year warranty, and according to the manufacturer, less than 1% of their blenders require attention.
Yes, the blender is expensive, but when you consider the fantastic quality and performence, I see it as an investment. I’m definitely a Vitamix fan now and look forward to discovering the many, many ways to use it in my kitchen.

  6. A staple "Buy it for Life" brand. Doesn't get better than the Vitamix for home blenders.

    AR September 19, 2024
    Review source: Amazon

If you have owned or had the opportunity to use a Vitamix in the past you already know that it is widely considered the best brand out there for home blenders. I used my family’s old Vitamix for years, and when I moved out on my own I bought the 5200 model. I’ve used it to make smoothies, healthy shakes, soups, hummus, cocktails, peanut butter, cashew butter, etc. It’s an incredibly important staple that I have in my kitchen, and I foresee myself having it for at least a decade.

That said, I was given the privilege of being able to order this new Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender through the Amazon Vine program.

The Ascent X2 is considered the lowest end of the new series (X2, X3, X4, and X5 which all get progressively more expensive). The X2 does an incredible job. It is really powerful, like all Vitamix blenders, and it also has three pre-set blending programs, a digital timer, and a section on the base that makes it easy to store the tamper (which I love from a design perspective). This series has a sleek design that feels modern compared to older Vitamix models, and I’m happy to say they perform comparably.

When comparing it to my older Vitamix it’s actually a little shorter than my 5200, which I thought was a plus due to limited storage space, and it is really easy to clean.

The only downside to it is price. It runs around $550 brand new. If you already own a Vitamix that performs well I don’t see the point in getting a new one like this, but if you don’t, this is well worth it.

    5/5. Highly recommended.

  7. Another great blender from Vitamix!

    FrankO September 19, 2024
    Review source: Amazon

The Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender is another quality product from Vitamix. The Ascent X2 replaces an older model Vitamix blender I’ve used for over 10 years. It will have a new home with my daughter and probably last another 10 years. The Ascent X2 adds a digital display and more programmed settings for making smoothies, frozen desserts, soups, etc. One new feature that is a definite improvement is the self-cleaning program. Add water and a little dish soap, start the program, and the X2 cleans itself. The only thing I found that was unfortunate is that the new Ascent X series is not backward compatible with older Vitamix containers. There’s a “built-in wireless connectivity” in the motor base that works with the new containers only. Other than that, this is a great blender, and I expect it will last for decades.

  8. The best in the business!

    John Arbor September 18, 2024
    Review source: Amazon

I am an owner of an original Vitamix that I bought from a demo that I saw in Costco years ago almost 10 ago years to be exact. I used it all the time and it was a fantastic product. The power of these motors are unmatched.

So I was really excited to try out this new version. It improves on one of the only drawbacks of the original style Vitamix, the design of the pitcher. The original one that I owned had a steep, narrow design that that made cleaning it out difficult and storage difficult as well as it took up a lot of space in my appliance cabinet.

This new stubby pitcher works perfectly in my kitchen. I found it incredibly easy to clean after using the self cleaning function and to dry out. The whole device now fits underneath my cabinets if I want to keep it on my countertop for daily use. But it also fits inside of my appliance cabinet, which is a huge plus.

The motor on the device, of course is unmatched in this category of blenders. It’s simply the best around and it can’t be beat. It grinds up frozen fruit and ice with ease and creates a blend for a smoothie that a more budget brand cannot match. I own a smaller Ninja blender and it was perfect when I just wanted a protein shake but, couldn’t handle breaking up frozen fruit or ice very well. This Vitamix does the job and all in less than a minutes time.

One thing I do want a note is that these blenders are loud and do create quite a lot of noise while they work as you can see in my video. Thankfully, they work quickly.

So far in a few weeks that I’ve owned the Vitamix I have gotten into the habit of making my daughter smoothies every morning for breakfast, which she absolutely loves. It’s also a great way to sneak some greens to your kids diet as I blend some spinach up along with yogurt and fruit. I used the Vitamix to make salsa and blend fresh tomatoes for spaghetti sauce both turned out great.

It’s easy to recommend a Vitamix. They are absolutely fantastic devices and a must have for any kitchen if you can afford one. The great thing about a brand like this is you can trust in it lasting a long time. They’re a built so well, this things a tank. I have all the confidence in the world that this blender will last for years and years and will run just as well as it does today as it will decade from now.

  9. There is no better blender than a Vitamix

    SeaFarer September 17, 2024
    Review source: Amazon

This is an improvement upon a product that has already been repeatedly rated as a five-star item. I have the Vitamix 5200 which has more than 7500 reviews, with 83% of them being five-star’s, and this blender deserves it even more. Side-by-side comparison of the Vitamix 5200 and the Ascent, definitely the win goes to the Ascent in power and performance, which will make your nut butters that more creamy.

Additionally, Vitamix has an industry leading 7 year warranty on their standard blenders. If you want the commercial variety, that warranty is for 10 years. Vitamix’s closest competitor charges you for an extended warranty.

5⭐ – Knocks it out of the park. A great value!

  10. Super-powerful

If you are looking for the ultimate blender…this is it!
It is very easy to use with pre-programmed buttons for smoothies, frozen drinks, and hot soup that correspond to provided recipes (or you can use it manually with the PULSE option).
It also has a self-clean cycle which is very convenient :
all you have to do is rinse!
My favorite smoothie and frozen coffee drink come as perfect as at a restaurant.
I am looking forward to making home-made salsa next!
All this and a ten year warranty!
Definitely the best blender I have ever used.
