Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Blending Performance: The powerful motor easily pulverizes tough ingredients like kale, frozen fruit, and nuts, producing a homogenous, silky consistency that users claim surpasses cheaper brands and coffee shop quality.
- Convenient Self-Cleaning Function: The dedicated cleaning cycle allows users to clean the jar quickly using just warm water and a drop of soap, which many reviewers find saves time and encourages more frequent daily use.
- Durable Build and Long Warranty: The machine is described as a sturdy, professional-grade 'beast' built to last for decades, supported by an industry-leading 10-year warranty that justifies the initial investment.
Cons
- High Noise Levels: Multiple reviews highlight that the blender is extremely loud during operation, with one user measuring it at 101 decibels, which can be startling for pets and annoying for household members.
- Premium Price Point: Many customers find the blender to be a significant financial investment, noting it is much more expensive than basic or mid-market alternatives, which may not suit casual users.
- Reliability and Sensing Issues: Some users experienced technical failures, including motors breaking within months, units overheating during thick blends, or the base failing to detect the jar on the unit.

If i would have known that this blender was this good i would have purchased it sooner regardless if it was on sale or not. We are cofee enthusiasts and this boender is great for making frappucinos, the ice is perfectly blended just like the chain stores. Also we blend the chili for chilaquiles, and it makes the salsa very well, no need to pour it through the strainer after blending (something you have to do with lower end blenders). Those were our two main concerns about making the jump since we would normally have to use special tools for these jobs. I believe that if it can do this then it will excel in anything that needs blending.

Buy It For Life
January76 December 11, 2024Review source: AmazonI own a 20 year old Vitamix, that after all of these years is still one of my most prized kitchen possessions. It works just like the day I bought it. And it is well, very well used. I jumped at the chance to try this newer model. It’s larger— both the base and of course the pitcher/jug. It’s also much more powerful than my older model. I’ve already made ice cream, several soups, and used it to chop up things in a pinch like a food processor. It handled all of that like a Vitamix would— like it was nothing. My only complaint or drawback to the newer model is the controls and buttons. It is not an intuitive design, and I really did need to read the instruction manual to understand how to use it. Other than that, you can literally buy this machine once— for life. It handles anything, tons of ice, — anything.

Way too noisy. 101 decibels.
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Kara December 10, 2024Review source: AmazonThis blender does an excellent job making smoothies and soup. It appears very well made. We tried it for about 2 weeks. The noise level is so high and it is very annoying to use. We are returning it only because of the noise level. we tested it with Decible app and it was a 101 decibels at the highest speed on the smoothie setting. Hope this helps.

I only had to get a new one because after 15 years my first one DISAPPEARED in a move! Best kitchen tool you will ever invest in. Yes, it is very, very well made. Makes great hot soup! My two have never disappointed me. It even cleans itself.

Absolute Beast!
Milo Giuffrida December 2, 2024Review source: AmazonThis Vitamix Ascent X2 is an absolute beast—hands down the best blender I’ve ever owned. It handles everything from smoothies to nut butters with ease, and the three preset programs make blending super convenient.
The 48-ounce container is perfect for everyday use, and the self-cleaning feature is a lifesaver. The polar white design also looks sleek and modern on my counter. Worth every penny!

Powerful blender, but Very Loud!
Matthias November 25, 2024Review source: AmazonOkay, so! I have a lot to say about this blender, so buckle up!
Looks/Appearance: Straight out of the box, my first thought was that this blender is gorgeous and looks very sturdy. I love the thick base it has, and it comes with little suction cups on the bottom so it doesn’t move around while you’re blending. The blender itself is a thick plastic that holds up very well to heat. On the blender pitcher, there are measurement lines, which is eternally helpful for someone like myself, who seems to constantly misplace my measuring cups. Overall, I really love the look of the blender. It just feels fancy, know what I mean?
Blending performance: Oh, boy can this thing blend! This thing is CRAZY GOOD at blending whole food into smithereens. With my other blender (of who’s manufacturer shall not be named), it would take a while of blending just to get frozen blueberries down to a very smooth consistency. This blender does so in seconds. I also really love that it has different settings, for smoothies, hot food, etc. alongside the option to just let it blend for a minute or more. I also really love that the pitcher just sits right down on the base, so there’s no fighting with it to click in or unscrew.
I mostly make smoothies in this blender, but I also made a squash soup with bone broth that came out incredible. It felt a bit weird to pour hot ingredients in the blender (all of my brain alarms were going off) but I trusted the process, and the blender held up very well, and most importantly—emulsified my soup down to something smooth and creamy and DELICIOUS!
Cleanup: Cleanup is very straightforward. The base wipes down easily and the blender pitcher doesn’t get stuck with food like other blenders I have owned. It’s actually very easy to clean, especially with the more flattened structure of the blades. I don’t have to worry so much about accidentally cutting myself while I’m washing it. The one thing I will say, is that it’s difficult to clean underneath the blades, but I just take my sponge and really push it under to clean beneath them. Then I fill the pitcher with soapy water and shake it around a bit. That works for me to get under the blades clean.
Now for things I’m not thrilled about:
The cord: the cord feels just a tiny bit too short for me. In my kitchen, I have only one plug socket on the countertop wall, and it’s only got the double-prongs, not the three-prongs this blender’s plug has. As such I have to position it on the corner of my countertop and use the three-pronged socket that’s on the adjacent wall and the cord just BARELY reaches it. That being said, my situation is a specific one, so I’m sure the cord won’t be a source of frustration to a lot of people.
The noise: Okay. This is a BIG one. While the machine does NOT shake the counter, it is INCREDIBLY loud. I mean, loud enough that my cats go scrambling away when I turn it on. It’s a lot louder than I expected, but this isn’t something deal-breaking for me. For the amount of blending power it has, I can deal with some noise. Perhaps Vitamix should consider ways to reduce noise in future versions?
And that’s about it! I am overall highly pleased with this blender and make lots of use of it. I love using it as an alternative to a food processor as well, and plan to make some homemade minced garlic in it next. Thanks for the superior product, Vitamix! Y’all rock!
