Pros & Cons
Pros
- Superior Rice Quality: The pressure induction heating technology produces perfectly fluffy, sweet, and consistent rice that users claim surpasses restaurant quality and standard fuzzy logic models.
- Exceptional Keep Warm Function: The machine is highly praised for its ability to keep rice fresh, moist, and delicious for several days without it drying out, yellowing, or developing odors.
- Versatile Grain Settings: Beyond standard white rice, it delivers excellent results for GABA brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and congee, with dedicated settings that handle difficult grains with ease.
Cons
- Prohibitive Price: The extremely high cost is the most common complaint, with many users finding it difficult to justify the expense despite the high-quality results.
- Reliability and Part Failures: Several reviewers reported hardware malfunctions shortly after the one-year warranty expired, specifically citing cracked inner lids, steam leaks, and persistent E17 error codes.
- High Maintenance Cleaning: The unit requires significant effort to maintain, as multiple parts must be disassembled, hand-washed, and dried after every use to prevent starch buildup and odors.

Gourmet Results
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.VJ December 23, 2025Review source: AmazonI finally upgraded to the NP-NWC10XB and the difference is incredible. The pressure induction heating doesn’t just cook rice; it transforms the texture, making it much softer and easier to digest. It is an expensive machine, but the build quality is top-tier Japanese engineering that feels like it will last a decade.
Minor Note: It is heavier (about 13 lbs) than standard models, but that’s due to the heavy-duty induction components.

Precision, consistency, and worth every penny
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.BennyP December 16, 2025Review source: BestbuyThe Zojirushi NP‑NWC18XB is hands down the most reliable rice cooker I’ve owned. Its pressure induction heating system ensures every batch of rice comes out fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—whether it’s white, brown, jasmine, or even steel‑cut oatmeal. I especially appreciate the multiple cooking modes and the platinum‑infused inner pan, which really enhances taste. The AI fuzzy logic makes adjustments automatically, so I never have to worry about undercooked or mushy rice. It’s sleek, durable, and large enough to handle family meals or meal prep. While it’s an investment, the quality and convenience make it absolutely worth it.

AFTER 1 YEAR USE PLS READ!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Kay December 12, 2025Review source: AmazonBought this back in 2024 and it’s starting to make noises now. Like a loud whistling sound. If you leave the rice in too long now the rice starts to smell? It did not before! Idk what’s going on but for this price there shouldn’t be any problems this soon within owning this rice cooker.

It cooks rice
Gau Vaspet December 2, 2025Review source: AmazonWhen you can sell a product for $420 during a sale, you can certainly sell the same product off sale for a lot less than the current $568. That’s absurd. But it’s the seemingly likelihood of failure that so many have experienced that weighed heavy in my decision to return this product locally. That’s just unacceptable for an expensive SMALL appliance — even the sale price is a lot of coin to gamble with for something that makes either a staple or a side dish depending on your ethnicity. What happened Japan? I’ll look for a Korean made brand instead.

A defective designed product
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Jianjun Sun December 1, 2025Review source: AmazonDo not buy this rice cooker. It is a defective design. We had this cooker for over a year and then it start to have the error message E17, indicating the outer lid does not close properly. We checked the lid and everything is fine. After a couple of retry, it worked again. Since then, it frequently had this issue. Now, it completely stopped work. It is a piece of junk.
