Pros & Cons
Pros
- Superior Rice Quality: The pressure induction heating technology produces perfectly fluffy, sweet, and consistent rice that users claim surpasses restaurant quality and standard fuzzy logic models.
- Exceptional Keep Warm Function: The machine is highly praised for its ability to keep rice fresh, moist, and delicious for several days without it drying out, yellowing, or developing odors.
- Versatile Grain Settings: Beyond standard white rice, it delivers excellent results for GABA brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and congee, with dedicated settings that handle difficult grains with ease.
Cons
- Prohibitive Price: The extremely high cost is the most common complaint, with many users finding it difficult to justify the expense despite the high-quality results.
- Reliability and Part Failures: Several reviewers reported hardware malfunctions shortly after the one-year warranty expired, specifically citing cracked inner lids, steam leaks, and persistent E17 error codes.
- High Maintenance Cleaning: The unit requires significant effort to maintain, as multiple parts must be disassembled, hand-washed, and dried after every use to prevent starch buildup and odors.

A splurge tghat works prefectly
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Michael October 24, 2022Review source: AmazonAfter using a variety of “good” rice cookers over my lifetime, I decided to seriously update my rice game. It is very reliable and makes excellent rice. The slow cooking time (relative to other cooking methods and cookers) produces a pot of rice where every grain is and same and perfectly cooked. This cooker would be good for the person who appreciates the taste and texture of perfectly cooked rice.

had high hopes
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.sikxxer September 26, 2022Review source: Amazoni’d save your money and not buy this rice cooker, sure it has fancy functions and plays a little tune when you start the cook and ends but to be honest, the rice doesn’t come out any different than what a standard rice cooker would do. i’ve tried a few different brands of high quality rice and all the same results. also a rusting issue on the cooker even after cleaning and drying it after use, water seems to get lodged in the ring which you can hardly see and after contacting zojirushi about the issue, they said its not covered as part of the warranty. really sad if you ask me, had high hopes for a known japanese company and expected a better response since i believe japan made items are usually amazing in quality and with their standards. but they did offer me a small discount to buy a new replacement which i guess is something.

How did I make rice w/out this?!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.BNPhipps July 4, 2022Review source: AmazonI can’t believe I’m actually saying a $600 rice cooker is worth the money but I swear it is! This thing is amazing! So easy to use and clean. My biggest complaint with rice cookers is that they spit water everywhere while cooking and it’s such a mess and hassle to clean afterwards. So when my husband convinced me to give this one a try I said “ok but if even ONE drop of water is on the counter it’s going back!” I mean for $600 there better not be any rice water spit to have to clean up! Well, there was NO water to clean up, not even a drop. I was so happy with the cooking process and the clean up and would highly recommend this product!

Makes perfect rice and oatmeal
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.James Richardson July 1, 2022Review source: AmazonAbout 10 years ago I bought my first Zojirushi rice maker. Loved how easy it was to make rice and oatmeal cooked to what I thought was perfection. Well, after an unfortunate series of events I had to buy a new rice cooker and Zojirushi was so good I went with the top end model with inductive heat. WOW, just wow, how well this new model works. There is even a setting for rolled oatmeal. Everything so far has been cooked to perfection.
If you want perfection, buy this model. -
For regular white rice, this is not good choice
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.OmegaOmega July 1, 2022Review source: AmazonWe use rice cooker almost daily, when my old Zojirushi cooker non-sticker pan wore out, I thought that it was time for an upgrade. This model got rave review because of pressure cooking and inductive heating, many simply say this is the best of best. Wrong! At least for regular white rice which we care most. For two reasons that I had to return this unit: First, this was the first rice cooker that needs a cooling fan, while noise level is not terrible, I don’t like the fact cheaper rice cooker can do it silently and with better results. Secondary, I am not sure if pressure cooking helps with other type of rice, but for white rice, pressure cooking makes texture worse. I purchased Ns-Zcc10 after returning this one, much better rice, and cost was less than half of this model.
