Highlights

Advanced Fuzzy Logic with AI Utilizes Artificial Intelligence to 'learn' from past cooking experiences, automatically adjusting the cooking flow to ensure consistent, ideal results every time.
Pressure Induction Heating (IH) Combines pressurized cooking with superior induction heating to turn beta starch into alpha starch, resulting in rice that is softer, fluffier, and easier to digest.
Platinum Infused Inner Pan Features a 1.7mm platinum-infused nonstick inner cooking pan that alkalizes the water, breaking down the protein on the surface of the rice grain for a sweeter taste.
Versatile Multi-Menu Settings Offers specialized programs for a wide variety of grains, including Jasmine rice, Congee, Steel Cut Oatmeal, GABA brown rice, and a unique Umami setting for enhanced flavor.
Superior Safety & Design Engineered with multiple fail-safe measures for safe pressure cooking, including a large steam vent cap to prevent overflows and sensors to ensure the unit is set up correctly.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Superior Rice Quality: The pressure induction heating technology produces perfectly fluffy, sweet, and consistent rice that users claim surpasses restaurant quality and standard fuzzy logic models.
  • Exceptional Keep Warm Function: The machine is highly praised for its ability to keep rice fresh, moist, and delicious for several days without it drying out, yellowing, or developing odors.
  • Versatile Grain Settings: Beyond standard white rice, it delivers excellent results for GABA brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and congee, with dedicated settings that handle difficult grains with ease.

Cons

  • Prohibitive Price: The extremely high cost is the most common complaint, with many users finding it difficult to justify the expense despite the high-quality results.
  • Reliability and Part Failures: Several reviewers reported hardware malfunctions shortly after the one-year warranty expired, specifically citing cracked inner lids, steam leaks, and persistent E17 error codes.
  • High Maintenance Cleaning: The unit requires significant effort to maintain, as multiple parts must be disassembled, hand-washed, and dried after every use to prevent starch buildup and odors.

Yes, I know it’s expensive for a rice cooker. But it’s worth it! Think about how often you will be using it, in our case, basically almost everyday! Makes the most fluffiest rice ever! Fair warning, regular cooking takes about 55 mins.

Well, the other reviewers were right – this Zojirushi NP-NWC10XB rice cooker makes excellent GABA brown rice, perfect white jasmine rice, and excellent normal white rice. I haven’t yet used the steel cut oatmeal setting, but plan to soon. True, it isn’t fast but, with a little advance planning, you can have delicious rice or oatmeal ready when you are. The only slight issues are that it takes some time to clean up (inner lid, cover, bowl, inside, etc.) and you have to be very careful not to scratch the inner bowl. But it’s worth it when you consider the quality of the rice it makes.

I have been eating with rice from a rice cooker for the past 38 years. This is the best rice cooker that I have used for a couple reasons. 1. It make my Japanese rice cooked where each individual grain of rice can be picked up by a chop stick. The consistency is very nice for certain meals. 2. This is best thing to make Oatmeal. I set it and get to do other things without watching the pot on the stove. You need to understand that it takes a bit longer to cook anything on here since it is a Pressure style cooker. Thats a negative when dinner needs to be rushed.

  7. Best rice cooker I’ve ever used.

I really dont know what a fair price is for this cooker. It definitely makes amazing rice. The best feature is probably the fact is can keep rice fresh hot and ready to eat or make sushi with, for several days. Spoiled now.

  8. Best rice cooker I have ever seen, but is it worth the money?

Well, my whole life I have had cheap 25-50 dollar rice cookers. Often, I would cook a batch of rice (about 3 cups uncooked) and use it for meal prep. The rice on top would generally be a bit tougher, and the bottom always stuck to the pan. This rice cooker cooks every single grain of rice the same. I have used this product about 5 times since purchasing last month and every time it cooks the rice evenly. The first day I did a blind taste test between rice cookers with my girlfriend. We could not taste a difference between the rice… bot wow, could we tell the difference in texture. If you want your rice cooked perfectly every single time, this is the rice cooker for you. Clean up is almost non-existent and you can tell every piece of the appliance is top quality. For clean up, the non-stick bowl is a breeze, I have yet to see a single grain of rice stick to the surface. However, is the product really worth the 500 dollar price tag? I would say for me personally, yes. There are rave reviews about the 200 dollar versions of this rice cooker. But I didn’t like the aesthetic or look of those rice cookers. The sleek and stainless steel of this version is really well done! Looking at honey, there were some pretty big price fluctuations and I know that I could have gotten this at a better price, but I do not regret not waiting and purchasing the product now. Every batch of rice has been the best rice ever. Both times we have made sushi, the rice was tender, fluffy, and excellent! I had left over rice balls after making nigiri and dipped them in soy sauce… I could have eaten just those. Taste better than most restaurant sushi rice I have ever tasted. If you have the extra money, I highly recommend purchasing if rice is a staple in your diet.

  9. Hands down, the best rice I've ever had.

This makes amazing, consistently great rice. So far, no complaints. I’ve used the umami setting once and actually have preferred the regular white rice setting to it, though I’ll give it a shot again (it was still really good). Haven’t used many of the other settings. Looking forward to trying the GABA Brown Rice setting soon.

I had read that some folks didn’t experience results that met their expectation. Not sure what may have occurred there, but I do think washing the rice thoroughly would help. It’s certainly important.

Overall, we’re incredibly happy with it. It’s an expense rice maker, but the outcome is so far and above any rice I’ve eaten that I have no regrets.
