Pros & Cons
Pros
- Superior Rice Quality: The pressure induction heating technology produces perfectly fluffy, sweet, and consistent rice that users claim surpasses restaurant quality and standard fuzzy logic models.
- Exceptional Keep Warm Function: The machine is highly praised for its ability to keep rice fresh, moist, and delicious for several days without it drying out, yellowing, or developing odors.
- Versatile Grain Settings: Beyond standard white rice, it delivers excellent results for GABA brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and congee, with dedicated settings that handle difficult grains with ease.
Cons
- Prohibitive Price: The extremely high cost is the most common complaint, with many users finding it difficult to justify the expense despite the high-quality results.
- Reliability and Part Failures: Several reviewers reported hardware malfunctions shortly after the one-year warranty expired, specifically citing cracked inner lids, steam leaks, and persistent E17 error codes.
- High Maintenance Cleaning: The unit requires significant effort to maintain, as multiple parts must be disassembled, hand-washed, and dried after every use to prevent starch buildup and odors.

Precise cooking every time, rice balls are now enjoyable
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.takashi hatakeyama January 16, 2022Review source: AmazonHigh altitude rice cooking is a challenge for any cooking, not just rice. Pressurized cooking makes it possible for each grain to be fully cooked from inside, while preserving texture of kernel without exploding it. This is easily observable even at the sea level for me, but the difference is pronounced at a higher elevation. I have crossed out so many “Japanese” restaurants here due to lack of their attention to rice cooking.
Optimally cooked rice shines especially when it is eaten cold, such as rice balls. Rice cooked in typical unpressurized rice cookers leaves core premature, resulting in mushy outside and tough inside which is a huge turn off with any rice balls. Rice balls made with this pressurized rice cooker provides consistent soft texture throughout the rice. Each bite is an enjoyable experience that accentuate the added taste of pickles, plums, and seaweed, NOT leaving you thinking why rice tastes so bad.
A couple of notes:
• Not a quick cooking, as others point out, but it is a function of good cooking, and therefore I have no issue with 55 min of wait while I prepare other dishes.
• Some seem to think cleaning lid is a pain – it only takes like 20 seconds of rinsing with water, you don’t even need dish detergent.
• I use Sasanishiki (Yume) or Koshihikari (Nozomi), both of which are excellent rice. -

Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.J. Miller January 8, 2022Review source: AmazonHands down better than any other rice cooker I’ve used and have used quite a few.
If you cook brown rice and/or a mix of grains, this is the cooker you want. Cooks evenly, although it takes almost an hour. It can be kept warm for a week and still taste great! -

Control Panel stopped working after 13 months (12 month warranty)
Coy G. December 30, 2021Review source: AmazonThe control panel stopped working shortly after the warranty expired. This product is very expensive to not last much more than a year. I would avoid it and buy a more reliable product.

Redefines rice
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.王德发 November 29, 2021Review source: AmazonI have been a rice consumer since I can remember things, and this rice cooker makes the best rice I have ever had. I am limiting my carb intake nowadays. So it makes sense to get the best taste out of the few times I do eat rice.
You will need to know if your rice needs to be rinsed or not and choose the program accordingly. Cleaning could be a little hassle but at least you can know for sure it is thoroughly cleaned.

Disappointed
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Karakoram November 29, 2021Review source: AmazonI have been using a less fancy, non-pressured Zojirushi rice cooker for years and have been pretty happy about it. Saw a friend using a pressured model so I ordered this model as an upgrade. It turned out to be a big mistake – the taste of the rice is not as good as the old one, the aroma of the rice totally went missing, the rice cooked by this one became tasteless, and in some cases, it became a slab of ‘rice cake’ which I can’t see the boundaries of the grains. BTW I followed all the instructions and measured the water/rice rations carefully, still it just won’t cook the rice right. Quite disappointed.

Don't buy it. Moths grow inside the indication panel, which is not covered under warranty!
DaShanZ November 23, 2021Review source: AmazonWe bought this rice cooker a few months ago and last few weeks notice that moths are growing inside the panel. Called customer service and they said it is not covered under warranty. It is disgusting to see moths there when using it. Don’t buy it.
