Highlights

Advanced Fuzzy Logic with AI Utilizes Artificial Intelligence to 'learn' from past cooking experiences, automatically adjusting the cooking flow to ensure consistent, ideal results every time.
Pressure Induction Heating (IH) Combines pressurized cooking with superior induction heating to turn beta starch into alpha starch, resulting in rice that is softer, fluffier, and easier to digest.
Platinum Infused Inner Pan Features a 1.7mm platinum-infused nonstick inner cooking pan that alkalizes the water, breaking down the protein on the surface of the rice grain for a sweeter taste.
Versatile Multi-Menu Settings Offers specialized programs for a wide variety of grains, including Jasmine rice, Congee, Steel Cut Oatmeal, GABA brown rice, and a unique Umami setting for enhanced flavor.
Superior Safety & Design Engineered with multiple fail-safe measures for safe pressure cooking, including a large steam vent cap to prevent overflows and sensors to ensure the unit is set up correctly.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Superior Rice Quality: The pressure induction heating technology produces perfectly fluffy, sweet, and consistent rice that users claim surpasses restaurant quality and standard fuzzy logic models.
  • Exceptional Keep Warm Function: The machine is highly praised for its ability to keep rice fresh, moist, and delicious for several days without it drying out, yellowing, or developing odors.
  • Versatile Grain Settings: Beyond standard white rice, it delivers excellent results for GABA brown rice, steel-cut oatmeal, and congee, with dedicated settings that handle difficult grains with ease.

Cons

  • Prohibitive Price: The extremely high cost is the most common complaint, with many users finding it difficult to justify the expense despite the high-quality results.
  • Reliability and Part Failures: Several reviewers reported hardware malfunctions shortly after the one-year warranty expired, specifically citing cracked inner lids, steam leaks, and persistent E17 error codes.
  • High Maintenance Cleaning: The unit requires significant effort to maintain, as multiple parts must be disassembled, hand-washed, and dried after every use to prevent starch buildup and odors.

Makes consistently good perfectly cooked rice no matter what type you cook.

I don’t know what peope are saying when they say it changes the taste of rice, it’s not a magical device, what it does do is give you is rice with the perfect texture. Every grain gets uniformly cooked and you do not get that hard yellow spot of crusty rice clump.

It is a premium device that looks good and I would not be surprised if I could pass this along to my kids when I die.

A little confusing to use at first but once you get the hang of it, you can prep and cook rice as easy as a typical mechanical rice cooker.

It’s big, it’s about the size of two shoe boxes stacked on top of each other. I typically cook 3 to 4 cups at a time and it takes a little less that an hour to cook.

If you eat rice alot of rice you should consider treating yourself to this luxury rice cooker.

  2. Great rice but difficult to maintenance

So I think we bought a version of this rice cooker about 10 or 11 years ago from a brick and mortar store, yes it was just as expensive back then. My wife thought I was crazy. But not only did it consistently make all kinds of great rice despite the kids fudging the water levels or settings, it was also great in keeping rice from going brown under the warmer setting. We always have 4C rice in the warmer, but is usually eaten after 48 hrs. The last person to eat the rice gets to make another batch so this cooker was basically on for the entire 12 years.

We wash the lid about every 2-3 cookings. I have noticed in the last 2 years the rice has started to get dried out if left beyond 48 hrs despite ensuring the gaskets were all clean. Then last week the plastic holding the pressure valve (and metal ball) crumbled. I have not been able to find a replacement part.

The pressure capability did not seem to speed up the cooking as I would have thought. But the cook time was rarely an issue. Cleaning out the lid and pressure valve was more involved that our old cooker. I am also not sure how much the pressure capability for the additional cost added to cooking rice, hence 4 versus 5 stars. I loved our rice cooker but I think our replacement will be the non-pressure induction cooker.

Mom needed a new rice cooker. Her previous Zojirushi rice cooker was over a decade old and it’s still going strong but she figured it’s time for an upgrade. She wanted the best and she insisted that it should be made in Japan. No communist rice cooker for her she insisted. So I went out and purchased the best darn rice cooker the free world has to offer. To be honest, the difference in rice quality hardly justifies the cost but what do I know. I’m just a peasant. One thing I can tell though is that this thing is an impressive showpiece in the kitchen and it impresses the guess. Everything about it just oozes quality. You know you made it to the top when you’re eating rice outta a $500 rice cooker.

This is one of the best rice cookers I’ve ever had. It makes the mixed grains rice so easy to cook, and no need to soak in the water for couple hours prior cooking.

I like Korean mixed grain rice, which can be difficult to cook. This cooker handles it easily. It’s also great at plain rice, and with a timer function, hot oatmeal can be ready and waiting for me when I wake up. It’s earned it’s place on my small kitchen counter.

Everything that needs to be washed, is easily removed (and replaced). I would love it if the parts could be put in the dishwasher, but they clean up easily enough that it’s not a deal breaker.

The instructions could be better though: you’re supposed to be able to change the sounds it makes, but I haven’t been able to do that. And it doesn’t tell you how much water to use, just to measure it on the lines in the pot. I’d rather know the ratio rice/water, but that might just be me.

The machine is expensive, but if you eat a lot of rice/grains, and have the funds, I think it’s worth it. I get fluffy, perfect rice everytime. Unlike when I try to make it on the stove… 🤣

Very disappointed. Plugged it in….shows H17, error code for lid not shut. But lid is shut. You know how it goes….you are waiting for this precious purchase….you get it….and it doesn’t work. You are hollering “no, no, no” (LOL). Trying it again and again until you succumb to the reality.
Secondly….Amazon refunded my money to a gift card and said “oh, so sorry”. Be careful about making big purchases here….Ended up with a V.i.t.a. c.l.a.y. Love it.
