    My wife usually doesn’t like brown rice and I was getting tired of white mushy rice. We eat rice a few times a week and like to make Chinese food. This produces the closest thing to restaurant rice. This is after of having this rice cooker for two months.

    The steam is coming out of front and sides and condensation develops. The older induction model does not have this issue. Cleaning the vent and cover after every use does not resolve the problem of steam coming off sides and front. A flaw in the design of the vent in my view. Simplicity in design in earlier model is desirable. We use the rice cooker on a daily basis. Quite disappointing. Cooks fine on the good side.

    I wanted this brand rice maker for a couple of years, however, spending so much money on a rice maker bothered me. Is it really that much better than our current rice maker or stovetop? Well it is! Can tell the difference between making rice/steel cut oatmeal on the stove top and this machine. We have never eaten sooooo much rice. Have been buying 5#’s of Jasmine rice at a time. So easy! Put it in the machine, set it and come back when it is done for a fabulous meal. This is my absolute favorite new tool in the kitchen. When I decided to do it, I went for the newest model. Love it! Would highly recommend.

    This helps me cook brown rice so fast that i really like it. But the battery inside only works for a few years and have to bring to zojirushi to change battery is kind of annoying. It’s good rice cooker thus. The previous model has scorch settings which i like.

    I only had a cheap rice cooker before this and the difference is astounding. I gave up on the old rice cooker and had just been making rice on the stove top. That is of course fine but I did not know how good rice could be until I got this rice cooker.

    The end result has been perfect rice every time. I have had great results with basmati, GABA and jasmine rice. The only knock is that it is very expensive. I can’t compare to the other Zojirushi rice cookers since I have never used them, but perhaps they are a better value.

    Overall, though our family is thrilled with the rice I have been making and even my son really likes rice now! That makes it worth it to me.

    I just received this today and have only cooked 3 cups of jasmine rice (450g). Took an hour. The rice tasted good and looked perfect. I am not sure how old the rice is though. More later. Update: I did an extended keep warm test. 3 cups of jasmine rice kept warm for 24 hours. Tested the rice at 6, 12, 18 and 24 hours. It’s magic. The rice was still moist and very good. Another update: Made a box of Zatarains Black Eyed Peas and Rice. Followed the directions on the box. Settings were white rice, regular. Darn good!
