Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Value: Reviewers frequently highlight the monitor as a 'steal' for its price, offering high-end specs like 1440p resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate that typically cost much more.
- Highly Adjustable Stand: The build quality is praised for being sturdy and premium, featuring a tool-less assembly and a stand that allows for extensive height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments.
- Smooth Gaming Performance: Users report buttery smooth gameplay with no screen tearing or ghosting, thanks to excellent G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility across PC and modern consoles.
Cons
- No Integrated Audio or Aux Port: A major complaint is the total absence of built-in speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which complicates audio setups for console gamers who do not use headsets.
- Underwhelming HDR: Multiple reviews describe the HDR performance as 'terrible' or 'unusable,' noting that it often results in low brightness and washed-out colors.
- Calibration and Tint Issues: Some customers reported that the display had a noticeable blue or orange tint out of the box, requiring significant manual calibration to achieve accurate colors.
Customer Fit
- Primary audience: Competitive and mid-core gamers who want fast, tear-free 1440p performance on PC or console, with high refresh rate, low latency feel, and adaptive sync.
- Secondary audience: Multifunction home users (work + play) who split the screen for emails, documents, or multiple tabs and still want sharp, comfortable visuals.
- Ideal scenarios: Fits desks where a 27" display is the “sweet spot,” replaces older 1080p panels or living-room TVs, supports Xbox / PS-style console gaming at high frame rates, and doubles as a daily work monitor.

The 180Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth—especially noticeable in fast-paced games like Warzone. I came from a 60Hz screen, and the difference is honestly night and day. No screen tearing, no ghosting. Just smooth, responsive gameplay.
The QHD resolution hits a sweet spot for me—not too demanding on the GPU, but still super sharp. And the colors? Absolutely gorgeous. The HDR actually feels like real HDR (unlike some monitors that just slap the label on). Blacks are deep, highlights pop, and the contrast is solid for an IPS panel. Watching Netflix or playing story-heavy games looks amazing.
The build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Alienware—sleek, premium, and sturdy. It’s got that futuristic vibe without being over the top. The stand is solid, super adjustable, and doesn’t take up a ridiculous amount of desk space.
I’ve tested both HDMI and DisplayPort, no issues there. It also plays super nice with both FreeSync and G-Sync (I’m using an NVIDIA card, and it synced up perfectly).
Honestly, if you’re debating between this and a slightly cheaper monitor, just go for this one. It’s the kind of screen that makes you want to sit down and play or edit or whatever. No regrets.

Alienware Monitor
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Sam July 31, 2025Review source: AmazonWorks great as a second monitor to an HP OMEN. Compatible with Alienware desktop, comes with an alien head sticker as a bonus.
Easy setup, easy mount for the stand. Overall great quality.
Box came beat up bad, but thankfully the styrofoam inserts kept it safe.
Weird thing (or at least I thought was odd) there was no protective cover for the actual screen, Like the satisfying tear off piece.

Excellent Workstation Addition

Also, you have the option to rotate it 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise; this makes a difference because at the bottom of the monitor you have a thicker border and depending on how you orient your monitors you can make sure this falls on the outside. I really appreciated this because I’m very specific about the little details
Another benefit, I did not get this monitor for gaming which is what it was advertised for, but in comparison to my other two HP monitors, the graphics appear to be sharper, so this was a nice surprise.
What I don’t like is that the stand is a grey/blue which doesn’t match my aesthetic; I would have preferred space grey or black, but I won’t let this affect the rating; I’m going to mount it on a different stand once I find a compatible adapter.
TLDR; I’m very satisfied with this investment and considering buying a second.
