When I was selecting this monitor, it said that it was an IPS panel. I thought it wouldn’t be a very good monitor and was worried about color accuracy. However, this is a fantastic monitor. I have a tri-monitor setup: an IPS FHD 165 Hz on the left, an OLED QHD 480 Hz in the middle, and (now) this IPS QHD 180 Hz monitor on the right. Its color accuracy is surprisingly good, even next to the OLED.
Its 180 Hz refresh rate and QHD resolution mean that I can even use it for gaming or watching videos at higher resolutions. It also has HDR and DRR (Dynamic Refresh Rate), which is nice to have.
Its also has Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync compatible. This ensures that screen tearing does not occur. The response time of this monitor is also relatively low, at an average of 1 millisecond.
Overall, I’d recommend this monitor for anything looking for a decent resolution monitor at a higher refresh rate. It’s various features and fantastic specs make it a great option for gamers.

I’ve owned their previous 34” ultrawide oled 2 years ago and the back design of their 2025 is much different, not only that it also comes with this dark blue color tone that I think some would like but I dont think it will be pleasing everyone considering most people would probably prefer either a black or white body of the monitor
DEVICE
since this year its a whole new look, even the box that comes with is different from alienware previous lineup, its dark box with blue hue that blends with another color I think you call it cyan? i’m not sure maybe not the right color. but overall first impression of the box I thought it was clean. unboxing the product I notice how tye based on the monitor is also different its a rounded square and very easy to setup that zero tools is required to assemble. as mentioned the monitor plastic back is a dark blue or I guess navy blue. the alienware information screen that can be activated on the bottom is about similar to their previous settings from 2024. this monitor support freesync and gsync compatible, I suggest if you’re going to buy a new monitor it’s definitely something to keep it mind to see if it can fully take advantage of your GPU. monitor is 2560 x 1440 and 180hz. it support HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4, so taking advatge of current console out there is fully compatible.
EXPERIENCE
playing and using this game on PC I was able to max out its 180hz support. I was playing The Finals and the picture quality of this monitor for an IPS I thought I was satisfied great looking colors. running other games with HDR id say this hands down the best looking HDR ive tried from an IPS, maybe because it’s certified for HDR 400 , and I definitely give an approval from
previous monitor experiences. picture quality I didnt have a problem did not look blurry, ive been using tons of 1440p screen and this monitor did not disappoint.
CONCLUSION
do you like alienware monitor or navy blue color monitor? well if you do alienware AW2725DM is the perfect monitor for your gaming setup. its slick performance was great no image quality issues at all with great colors. the price is currently $280 but you can catch this on sale for less than $50 last time I checked. 27” I think its the perfect size for gaming and competitive play, games ive tested with the monitor is Halo infinite, the new battlefield alpha. the finals. the ascent. all look great. thanks alienware this a great monitor so far! -

Alienware 27” gamer screen has superb 2560 X1440 IPS resolution, tilting, swivel & pivot (portrait) use, arrives with DP and HDMi cables, uses 25 watts, 1 millisecond response, solid base, cable management, VESA arm ready, great contrast for gaming or other use, web, spreadsheets, email.Base: This is a solid monitor without any of those shaky, flimsy slight vibration causing bases; this model is solid. The included base snaps into the monitor back with no tools required. It allows tilt up and down adjustment, raising or lowering the monitor, and pivoting around to use the monitor in vertical portrait mode for both gaming or use in long web page or word processing mode.
Wires/Ports: Alienware supplies both a single HDMI cable and a single DisplayPort cable. There are 2 HDMI inputs. Also included is a 5gbps speed USB-A to USB-B upstream cable for activating the other on-board USB ports There is also a USB-A downstream port which supplies power for charging devices of 2 Amps as well as a 2nd USB-A downstream port with no power delivery. There is a normal 120 volt power cable (no power brick that creates a falling or containment issue).

My conclusion: This Alienware monitor produces superb picture quality with no complaints in any regard when using it with gaming my laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU circuit. The flat display surface is matte anti-glare.There are no internal speakers nor is there an audio output port. The lack of a port won’t detract much from the superb visual performance but it would have made connecting a speaker system easier and neater.
It is still recommended. -

Great Entry Gaming Monitor

My son is getting a little older now and getting more into programming. The extra pixel density and resolution (1440p) vs his 1080p monitor was the primary factor. The reason I opted for Alienware was because of their phenomenal customer support. So while this monitor may cost a little more than other monitors of similar spec, the peace of mind from knowing if there is a problem it will get handled is worth it.
As for build quality I have no complaints with this monitor. Its similar my other Alienware monitor. Its a plastic design all around with minimal bezels and a nice joystrick controller in the middle of the screen for navigating the menus. It has a matte anti reflective coating on it that doesn’t blur the image like other monitors. The Alienware logo on the back I believe is RGB but I never messed with it.
It supports two HDMI 2.1 ports on the back and 1 Displayport 1.4 (given the refresh rate of the panel, the newer standard doesn’t make sense). One nice benefit of this panel is that it has 2 USB ports on the underside which gives my son an additional USB port for his laptop which he was desperately needing. One of the ports also supports higher power charging though I’m not sure the wattage.
I didn’t get to test the 180hz of the panel as my sons laptop tops out at 144hz, but I really don’t think he needs it. The image quality is a huge step up from his previous VA panel. This panel is IPS and has a good color range. It also supports HDR that is ‘ok’.
Being LED backlit / IPS, the panel is going to suffer from some sort of backlight bleed and fortunately this panel isn’t that bad with it. This will vary from panel to panel, but I got fortunate with this one. In my picture you can barely tell, but its more apparent in a fully dark room.
Overall, this is a very good monitor. I have no complaints with it and would buy another given the opportunity.
