Pros & Cons
Pros
- Simple and Quick Setup: Many reviewers found the initial installation process to be exceptionally easy, with some reporting they were able to start printing within minutes of unboxing.
- Excellent Print Quality: The printer is frequently praised for producing sharp, clear text and vibrant photos, with several users noting it performs better than previous models from other brands.
- Compact and Space-Efficient: The small footprint of the device is a major highlight for users with limited desk space, making it an ideal choice for home offices and small business environments.
Cons
- High Ink Consumption and Cost: A recurring complaint is that the printer 'eats' ink quickly, and the cost of replacement cartridges is often described as expensive or nearly the price of the printer itself.
- Unreliable Wireless Connectivity: Numerous users reported that the printer frequently goes offline or loses its Wi-Fi connection, requiring constant troubleshooting or a switch to a wired USB connection.
- Lack of Duplex Scanning: Despite having an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), the device does not support automatic double-sided scanning, which was a deal-breaker for several customers.

It took a few tries but now I LOVE it!!!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Julie N in HHI September 3, 2024Review source: AmazonI ordered this printer from Amazon and the one they sent me didn’t feed paper properly. I called Canon and they FedExed me a replacement that had a similar problem. After they overnighted me a third machine, it worked perfectly and I love it. I can’t say enough good things about it. I print quantities of double sided pages in color and in grayscale. Pictures come out beautiful even on low quality and on plain copy paper. I just love it. I’m about to order another of the same model for my parents. It was so worth the initial hassle.

Unusable after 4 months
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Amazon Customer August 24, 2024Review source: AmazonThe printer continuously went offline between prints. After 4 months the auto double side jammed constantly and the lid broke when I lifted it to set a page for scanning. Guess I will be buying another printer. By the way, I use it to print doll patterns and personal paperwork only. Not a lot of heavy duty printing.

Awful
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Teresa August 12, 2024Review source: AmazonBought this printer thinking that it would produce great print quality, didnt even last 24 hours as the paper just kept jamming. Had it set up worked for about half a day, then would jsut jam for no reason. REset several times, finally gave up and returning. Do not recommend!

Thank your God for the ability to return garbage
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Lanceliketheweapon August 12, 2024Review source: AmazonI was suspicious as soon as I took this TR7820 out of the box. The box was far too lightweight for a printer of any quality. It did not disappoint. Upon running the default test page, I heard a pop-whiz-boing after reading the manual and installing the cartridges precisely. A spring had popped off inside the hollow plastic shell. I raised the lid mechanism, only to find that it wasn’t a mechanism at all, but a 1972 Ford Pinto busted hood latch tasked with holding the weight of the copy lid! This thing is propped up on some plastic straw-type material; once inside, it only worsens. There was no space at all for the cartridges to execute their function properly. It was an engineering disaster of the highest magnitude. The thinnest mil springs possible, with razor-thin ink repositories. I don’t want to begrudge actual ink cartridges because you don’t get those. The worst complaint is coming up. Despite being: ‘Self-healing’ AI, WIFI, Ninjitsu-Kung-Fu V.6, this thing couldn’t communicate with my desktop. Yes, all drivers are up to date. I am a professional. But Canon, listen, give your shops some extra time off, develop your QC program, I reccommend millions, fire R&D – you are not getting your money’s worth, and please; send me a new printer. Thanks

Great Printer and value
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.AndyA August 6, 2024Review source: BestbuyReplaced old Pixma MP-250. It lasted forever. Pixma has come a long way! Wireless all purpose printer/scanner the whole house can use. It was very easy to set up and the price at Best Buy was incredible. Plus great support as a Total Member. Careful though – mistakenly got the TR2070 at first, identical except no page feeder – but BB happily let me trade up no problem
