    What is not good: First, the unit does not have a paper tray. I saw no pictures that showed as such so I assumed it had one. The paper sticks out the back adding space to it’s footprint. My fault on that, but therefore one of the reasons for the 2 rating. Second, even after setting the application default for Rear Paper tray for 8.5 x 11, and the print job to Rear Paper Tray for 8.5 x 11 the unit will ask if the paper has been loaded. Third, the LCD is just to small, and they could have also added some light on the buttons. They are very hard to see.

    What is good: The app on my Android phone. But again the Rear paper Tray.

    Is it worth the $, knowing what I know now I would not have bought the printer. Should have been more diligent and watched the return window. Now I am stuck……..

    First, the printer’s screen is tiny. Setting up the printer required viewing this tiny screen which only slows down the process. The printer is small in size and only holds a small amount of paper. I am not a fan of the ink tank since it seems like a disaster waiting to happen. It would be a nightmare if this tank were to leak. The print quality is okay but not great. This seems like a printer from another era. A long ago past era…

    It will do for now but I will certainly return to an HP printer next go around. That might be in a year or less. If you’re wanting a good printer spend a little more.

    BEWARE FOR DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING:
    Your Epson ET-2980 isn’t printing double-sided because it requires manual duplex printing and the setting is not enabled in the software. To fix this, you need to select the option for manual double-sided printing in your document’s print dialog, which will prompt you to reinsert the paper after the first side is printed.
