Pros & Cons
Pros
- EcoTank Ink System: The refillable tank design eliminates the need for expensive cartridges, providing a massive ink supply that users find much more convenient and environmentally friendly.
- Cost-Effectiveness: The printer is highly economical over time because the bottled ink is reasonably priced and lasts significantly longer than traditional cartridges, with some users reporting thousands of prints on a single fill.
- Easy Mobile Integration: The Epson Smart Panel app is frequently praised for making the initial setup and wireless printing from smartphones a seamless and intuitive process.
Cons
- Small LCD Screen: The 1.44-inch display is widely criticized for being far too small and difficult to read, often requiring users to use a magnifying glass or flashlight to navigate menus.
- Connectivity and Setup Issues: Many reviewers experienced significant frustration with the printer dropping its WiFi connection or found the initial driver installation on computers to be overly complex and time-consuming.
- Paper Handling Limitations: The lack of an internal paper tray and reliance on a rear feeder with limited capacity is a common complaint, along with reports of frequent paper jams during automatic double-sided printing.

The "Best Buy" Efficient Printer

This is a great printer. I still use an Epson 3670 series (7 years old), usually in the wireless mode for an iMac and MacPro (2017 edition). I always use 502 branded ink. It’s easy to fill the tanks; lasts long as advertised, & much more cost effective than cartridges. I’ve had very few paper jams, which have been easy to clear. The usual stoppage is I haven’t loaded the paper

If you print a lot, this printer is for you.
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Camhar 25 September 25, 2025Review source: AmazonThis is my third Epson printer and the ink storage function will save you a fortune if you print a lot of color, like me.
Photo finish is mm great, changing sizes of papers is easy. The back paper loading drop design is easier then tray design when you need to add a single pcs of photo paper.
Great price, prints beautifully and has not jammed like tray storage printers., easy wireless setup. I use 3rd party print apps with no issues. -
Poor design, hard to read interface
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Lisa Wagner (Rug Chick) September 24, 2025Review source: AmazonI am a long time Epson fan. This unit is designed poorly. The operating screen is tiny, bad for anyone with poor eyesight. The instructions are dumb. For example “COPY?” if you hit OK it says “invalid” – instead a very small prompt wants you to hit the diamond with a line in it.
I loved my last 4600 unit, this one I hate.

Great for Homeschooling!
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.Erica Peterson September 23, 2025Review source: AmazonWe started homeschooling our 5 year old. Before I had an HP with the ink subscription and it was costing way too much. I saw so many recommendations for this printer and the eco tank specifically and so far it has been amazing! I can’t speak for how long the ink lasts yet since I’ve only had it a few days but I print almost every day and all the prints so far have been perfect. Color looks good and no smears or faded areas.

The best printer set up I have ever had! (AI made me do it.)
Verified purchase Verified purchase: This reviewer bought the product.DD in LA September 22, 2025Review source: AmazonThe set-up was, shockingly, a breeze. This is my third go at setting up a printer this year. The other two (both HPs), were impossible. One of them the power cord didn’t fit AT ALL, and HP refused to send a replacement for free. Go figure. I sent it back. The other HP cost me days on the phone with customer service before I gave up and returned it. I had to get professional help to remove all the Wizards, extensions, etc. I am pretty sure HP is still lurking in the bowels of my computer. Nothing I have purchased to replace all I lost in the LA fires was as seamless at this Epson. Everything worked on the first go and I am impressed with the speed and print quality. P.S. Even though I am a naysayer, I used AI to help me decide which printer to try this time around. It was surprisingly successful!
