The Ninja OG701UK Woodfire Electric BBQ Grill Smoker has achieved an outstanding reputation among British consumers as a hassle-free, highly effective replacement for conventional charcoal and gas barbecues. Reviewers routinely praise its versatile 7-in-1 cooking modes, rapid preheating, and the authentic wood-smoked flavour delivered by the pellet box. While overwhelmingly praised for juicy, evenly cooked meats, some buyers report occasional electrical tripping issues with the built-in RCD plug, find the lid and fan area fiddly to degrease, and note the cooking surface is best suited for small groups of 2 to 4 people. Overall, it is an exceptional outdoor multi-cooker ideal for patio dining, camping with electric hookups, and effortless weeknight grilling.
Offers seven distinct outdoor cooking functions in a single countertop appliance: BBQ Grill, Smoker, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate. This allows you to smoke ribs low and slow, roast whole joints, or outdoor air fry sides using up to 75% less fat than traditional deep frying.
Features an integrated convection smoker box that burns 100% natural hardwood pellets solely for rich flavour infusion rather than fuel. Using just a single scoop of pellets, it delivers authentic wood-smoked taste across any cooking mode with the press of a button.
Equipped with a powerful 2400W electric heating element engineered for UK household mains (220–240V) that reaches searing temperatures up to 260°C. It eliminates the prep time and safety concerns of gas or charcoal while providing fast, consistent heat recovery.
Includes a 28cm x 37cm non-stick ceramic-coated grill plate that fits up to 8 burgers, 16 sausages, 2 racks of ribs, or a 2kg pork shoulder. The included crisper basket adds versatility, holding up to 1.5kg of potato wedges or 1kg of chicken wings.
Engineered with an IPX4 water-resistance rating and premium durable materials built to withstand year-round British weather. Its compact footprint (H34 x W46 x D46 cm) and integrated side carry handles make it easily portable for patios, balconies, and campsites.
Owners consistently applaud the integrated smoker box, noting that burning just a small scoop of hardwood pellets infuses genuine, rich barbecue flavour into steaks, burgers, ribs, and roast chicken without lighting messy charcoal.
With 7 cooking programs including grill, air fry, roast, bake, and smoke, buyers love having an all-in-one outdoor kitchen appliance that can effortlessly crisp side dishes like chips while smoking whole joints.
Users appreciate how quickly the electric elements reach cooking temperature, along with digital display prompts and audio beeps that instruct exactly when to preheat, add food, and flip meats for perfectly timed results.
Reviewers love eliminating the tedious prep, ash, and soot of traditional barbecues; the removable non-stick grill plate, crisping basket, and grease drip tray make standard post-meal clean-up remarkably fast.
While the removable ceramic grill plate washes easily, multiple owners note that smoke tar, fat, and baked-on grease rapidly coat the upper lid and fan guard, making thorough degreasing awkward and time-consuming.
A notable number of reviewers experienced nuisance tripping of the built-in RCD safety plug or house fuses, particularly when starting ignition or running the high-draw grill through long extension leads.
Several buyers express frustration with the master on/off switch, which is tucked underneath the base behind a leg, making it difficult to reach without feeling blindly or lifting the heavy unit.
Weighing roughly 13–14 kg, users describe it as very heavy to transport, and caution that the grill area comfortably feeds only 2 to 4 people, making large family cookouts require sequential batch cooking.

Great little unit , ideal for the caravan, plenty big enough for 3 people with the added bonus of being an air fryer too.

It really is very, very good. Our ordinary cooker gets very little use as almost everything is done on the Ninja, summer and winter (we have a covered outdoor area). Timer is accurate as is the temperature control and with a thermoprobe (not expensive) you can be sure it's cooked all the way through. However, just ordered my 3rd Ninja. The first failed after 12 months, the cooking mode would not move off 'air fry whatever program was selected on the dial, it was replaced under warranty without any problems. The replacement has just failed after 3 years, the fan has stopped working which makes it almost impossible to cook anything. In fairness the fan motor has a hard life as it is very close to the upper heating element and it does get a lot of use. So my 3rd Ninja in 4 years but they are really that good and so useful and convenient we wouldn't want to be without one...

This was an excellent gift for my husband. Using all aspects of it and loving the smoker in particular. Easy to clean and can bbq for 6 people with ease.

Excellent product. Easy to use. Seems to need resetting the electrics when beginning after it has been turned off.

A fantastic idea. Instant and flexible outside cooking with no fuss and no pre-planning required. From a quick cheese toastie to cooking 10 burgers always a success. Have even started using for a quick mid-week lunch for one, as well as for family BBQs. Lots of flexibility with smoking suits all tastes. Couldn't be without it now.

We absolutely love it , so easy to use and clean ! Especially love the smoker , it’s just another one of those products that we will use over and over

This product doesn't really work as a smoker, it just doesn't generate anywhere near enough smoke, and isn't exactly good at circulating it around the food. At best it gives anything you cook with the smoker element active a slight smokiness, along the lines of seasoning with a good quality smoked salt. It doesn't really work as a BBQ, given it's electric it completely lacks in the signature BBQ taste profile. On the plus side it works pretty well as an air fryer, with plenty of options, and a reasonable size basket. It's also a decent alternative to a George Foreman and the temperature control is definitely a bonus. Overall this is not for me, I'd say it belongs in the £80-£100 price range, however, since it retails for nearly £300 it's at best an expensive gimmick, at worst an outright scam.
